Digital waivers — sign before you arrive

At activity venues, customers sign a liability waiver before participating. Traditionally, this happens on paper, at the front desk, just before the activity starts. The result: a queue, rush, and a poor first impression.

In Sessiq, the liability waiver is signed digitally during the booking process — before the customer arrives on-site.

How it works

Sessiq’s digital waiver is part of the booking flow. The customer signs it at checkout, while making the booking:

  1. The customer selects a time and proceeds to checkout.
  2. The waiver is presented during checkout. The customer reads the terms and signs digitally.
  3. The signature is stored with the booking. When the customer arrives at the venue, the waiver is already signed.

The waiver is configurable — the venue defines the content, and it’s displayed automatically for the products that require it.

What this changes

No queues at the front desk. In traditional venues, customers queue up to fill out paper waivers. Especially with large groups — birthday parties, corporate events — this takes minutes per person. When the waiver is signed in advance, the customer walks in and starts.

No paper handling. Paper waivers need to be collected, filed, and stored. Finding them later — for example, during a complaint — is slow. A digital waiver is always findable through the booking record.

A better first impression. The customer’s first experience at the venue isn’t a queue and paperwork — it’s a welcome and the start of the activity.

How the waiver is configured

The venue defines the waiver content in Sessiq’s admin dashboard. Waivers can be linked to specific products — meaning different activities can have different waivers.

Once the waiver is configured and linked to a product, it appears automatically as part of the checkout flow for bookings of that product. No separate activation needed.

Storage and traceability

Signed waivers are stored digitally with the booking record. Each signature includes:

  • The signatory’s details
  • A timestamp
  • The waiver content at the time of signing

Records are retrievable through the booking — not from folders or archives. If the waiver content is updated later, previous signatures reference the version the customer actually signed.

Who digital waivers are for

Digital waivers are especially useful for venues where:

  • Volume is high. The more customers, the more time paper waivers consume.
  • Group bookings are common. A group of ten with paper waivers means ten forms at the front desk. Digitally, they’re signed before arrival.
  • Documentation matters. Digital storage is more reliable and faster to search than a paper archive.
  • Customer experience is a priority. The first impression starts at the door, not at a clipboard.

Summary

Digital waivers move signing from the front desk to checkout. The customer signs during booking, arrives ready, and starts immediately. The venue saves time, improves the first impression, and gets a reliable digital archive.
